Neodymium Magnets are often called “health magnets” they are used in a number of different applications that range from industrial to even space travel. These types of magnets are used in industrial settings to connect, retrieve and produce a slew of products, NASA uses them in the astronauts space suits to help keep their muscles toned, they are used in a slew of electronic devices and many, many other applications. They are also used in jewellery closures.
The NIB magnets
They are the strongest type of permanent magnet available. Sometimes referred to as NIB magnets. The range of strength is counted from N24 to N55 on a magnetism scale that theoretically can go up to N64 (although the N64 is in theory only and has yet to be proven).
These types of magnets are very powerful and even small sized magnets can be used to perform a wide range of duties. The list is tremendously long when it comes to describing exactly how common the use of neodymium magnets are used for.
You likely come into contact with these type of magnets several times a day and never even realize it. They are used for magnetic door closures on cabinets, closures on makeup cases, in your DVD, your laptop and also on your car’s ABS system. They are used for switches and to hold badges on clothing instead of using pins!
They are utilized in generators. Typically the stronger the magnet the more powerful the generator.
Water treatment may also be possible with the use of two block size neodymium magnets. While this process is still rather controversial a lot of people swear by the tactic. The basic idea is that two magnets attached to an incoming pipe will help to “soften” the water. The information that has been retrieved through studies are largely anecdotal but there are many people that believe it really works.
Magnetic Therapies Use Neodymium Magnets
These powerful magnets are used in MRI machines and used in magnetic therapies. While magnetic therapies have not been proven to work or proven not to work neodymium magnets are usually the magnets of choice used in these therapies. They are often used to treat the symptoms of arthritis and other inflammatory disease.
Just about any application that requires a magnet is likely to be completed using a neodymium magnet. They are powerful, they never lose their magnetism and they come in a full range of shapes and sizes!
